Will Trump hurt the gun industry?

President Trump’s win was celebrated as a victory for gun rights advocates — but gun sales typically fall during Republican administrations. And that’s what seems to be happening.

Background checks of gun purchases declined in January for the second consecutive month, according to FBI data released last week, falling off by 20% percent when compared year-on-year.

2,043,184 background checks were processed through the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System in January 2017, compared with 2,545,802 in January 2016.

Although, the leftist BBC is telling their viewers that liberals are now buying guns because they fear for their safety in Trump’s America. You can read about this trans-gender woman learning how to shoot here on the BBC’s version of facts for their anti-gun British audience. Here’s a quote:

Clara, a 28-year-old transgender woman nursing student, grew up in the Mid-West, where “the folks that had guns were seen as hicks” or were just “culturally different”, she says.

But since the election of Donald Trump in November she has started going to a gun range for the first time and is shopping around for a semi-automatic pistol.

“It’s been seeing the way that Trump’s election has mobilised a lot of the far right and given them hope,” she says, citing a rise in reports of hate crimes and neo-Nazi activity.
