I worked a local fundraiser to generate some money for these lovely people. They take shelter dogs that would otherwise be euthanized, and train them to become live-saving assistant dogs for veterans who need companions to help them get through the day, or to deal with their PTSD.
Personally, I’m so happy that Mike Rowe found out about them. They are an adorable young family, dealing with their own post-service issues – and raising FIVE children – and giving back every single day.
